Cylinder Head Gasket Thickness Uniformity Measurement Unit

The measurement unit comprises of a loading station on the right and the measurement station in the middle. The width of the measurement unit is determined by the maximal size of the gaskets according to the list of requirements. This is a tactile measurement. A push rod is pressed pneumatically onto a counter face below.
The latter has a mushroom shaped cap in order to prevent catching of the gasket. The pressure force is adjusted by air pressure.The stability of the gauge is ensured by the bulk steel frame. In order to measure the sheet metal thickness an LVDT pickup is used. This measures the displacement of the push rod. The thickness profile around the holes of the gasket is measured by translating the workpiece in XY directions such that the desired measurement position on the gasket is located between the plungers.
