Image Clarity Measurement Station

 

This parameter Image Clarity emulates the visual imnpression and is of importance in connection with highly qualitative papers like photographic papers, calendars, brochures, etc.

 

If a bright/dark line is projected onto a paper surface the so-called Image Clarity is a measure for the bleeding of this border line:

 

The measurement unit serves to measure and evaluate the bright-dark transition of a light spot on a paper surface and the subsequent calculation of the Image Clarity parameter. The measurement unit has been designed specifically for this application. The Windows XP / 7 software enables the setting of all required parameters, controls the measurement and does the data evaluation.

There are several evaluation algorithms available to analyse the Image clarity parameter using the speckle phenomenon or the MTF. The parameters measured with this instrument correlate excellently with a quality sequence as established using test papers and several test persons.
